FOR LARGE WEDDING CAKES OR HIGHLY DETAILED CELEBRATION CAKES, 3-6 MONTHS OF LEAD TIME IS IDEAL.
If you are inquiring with less lead time than specified above, we cannot guarantee that you will receive a reply.

WE’D APPRECIATE IT IF YOU WOULD TAKE A MOMENT TO READ THROUGH OUR PRICING & SERVICES GUIDE BEFORE SUBMITTING AN INQUIRY.
Before you stop by…
PLEASE NOTE: We’re a custom cake studio, NOT a retail bakery. We don’t have any baked items in a display case for sale each day. We make absolutely everything to order.
While we’d love to give you a tour of our gorgeous bakery and “sugar playground” (with its pocket views of Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains), we are usually up to our eyeballs in cake flour each day and are closed to walk-ins. Check out our YouTube channel for a virtual tour and some fun BTS footage.
If you’re picking up a custom order or a Cake Tasting, you will have already received an order confirmation from us containing the pickup time and the address of our location. If you need to reach us directly about a current order, please call Carla at 425 577 9220.
Quick Question…
-
So sorry, but no! All of our cakes are made to order. We don’t carry cakes for sale to walk-in customers, as we are a custom cake studio rather than a retail bakery. Please visit our online shop for cakes that can be prepared with a week or two of lead time, depending on our seasonal availability.
-
We generally require at least 1-2 weeks of lead time for most SMALL cake orders. During peak wedding season (May through September), we need much more lead time than this. Larger and more intricate cakes require more planning time, regardless of the season (we recommend 1-3 months for “Classic & Simple” wedding cakes, and 3-9 months for Fine Art wedding cakes).
However, you can sometimes snap up a pre-designed cake or other baked treats from our online shop with just 4 business days’ notice (depending on our schedule). -
An overview of our Pricing can be found here.
The general rule is, pricing for custom-designed cakes is based on the size of the cake and the intricacy of the design. If you have a photo of a cake you’d like, you can email it to us and we’ll give you a quote. If you’d like us to design a cake specifically for you, you can send over any inspiration photos you have (and specify a budget you’d like to stick to), and we can go from there.
Pricing is much simpler for the catalog cakes in our online shop, as they have already been designed, and the cake sizes are pre-determined. -
We offer regular Cake Tastings in two formats: a biweekly “micro-tasting” that enables you to choose your own flavors, for pickup from our studio, and a quarterly “showcase” style tasting, which is a fun in-person event at our studio. Explore the options here.

YES! Currently, all flavors on our menu are available as a VEGAN, or DAIRY-FREE, or GLUTEN-FREE version. We also have other dessert options in our online store that are allergy-friendly. Please keep in mind that we typically need extra lead time for special requests, and additional fees apply.
Note: We don’t have a separate kitchen for special orders, and therefore cannot guarantee that our products will be free of all allergens. Having said that, our team is thoroughly trained in avoiding cross-contact, and we take the utmost care to wash and sanitize our tools and equipment between batches. -
Gumpaste flowers are food safe, and are intended to become lasting keepsakes once your event is over. They’re made primarily of sugar, but also contain certain inedible structural elements (e.g. cotton stamens, floral wire, floral tape, etc). The sugar dough that they’re made from dries pretty hard and becomes quite brittle, which is not the most pleasant texture to eat! It’s far better to keep sugar flowers as a memento of your celebration, as they will last forever if stored or displayed correctly. (Simply keep them away from moisture, which melts them, and direct sunlight, which fades their colors.) Many of our clients choose to showcase their flowers in an acrylic box or under a glass dome in their homes. You can see how chef Carla chose to display the sugar flowers from her own wedding cake HERE.

All our free tutorials are published on our YouTube channel. We also host in-person workshops and masterclasses several times each year, as our production schedule allows. Our current in-person group workshop schedule is posted HERE.
Finally, it’s a good idea to follow our Instagram page. We always post workshop announcements there as well.

Our owner (Carla) dreamed up the name one night in 2010 — and was lucky enough to discover that the domain name was still available…
“Honey” relates to her graduate training as an environmental policy maker, at which time she became very interested in bees and the role of industrial agriculture (and neonicotinoid pesticides) in colony collapse. Without bees, we humans wouldn’t have anything to eat. “Crumb” relates to the biggest compliment that a baker can get — namely, when there’s nothing left on the cake plate except crumbs. Put the two together, and you get “Honey Crumb” — a name that’s easy to remember, fun to say, and a little nostalgic!
